Aderra Inc. is a music technology company based in Los Angeles, London, Melbourne, Tokyo, Nashville, New York, Paris and Luxembourg. The company specializes in recording live events directly to USB flash drives which are then distributed to the audience before they leave the venue.
Aderra Inc. was founded in Los Angeles by Ed Donnelly on January 1, 2007.
The first band recorded live to USB flash drives using Aderra technology was Killola.
On June 2, 2007 Aderra recorded Big Head Todd and the Monsters at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.[1]
Beginning in June 2007 Aderra's technology was used to record and distribute Willie Nelson's live concerts on USB Wristband flash drives.[2]
In December 2007 Ringo Starr released a studio album entitled "Liverpool 8" on USB Wristbands provided by Aderra.[3]
From January through April 2008 Aderra's technology was used on a worldwide tour by rock band Matchbox Twenty.[4]
On February 18, 2008 CNET blogger Matt Rosoff posted about live USB recordings and Aderra on his Crave gadget blog.[5] Billboard magazine featured Aderra artist Kim Kline on page 47 of the March 8, 2008 edition [6]
On September 16, 2008 Aderra announced a special project with Toronto based DJ Deadmau5 which included a custom designed flash drive in the shape if his iconic mask. The content included a live set as well as a catalog from the project sponsor Ergophobia Clothing.[7]
On June 25, 2009 Aderra announced the "Sonisphere Souvenir USB Wristband" to be sold on the Sonisphere Festival Tour in Europe. The Content featured audio recordings, video interviews, live performance video, behind the scenes interviews and photo galleries featuring several of the acts on the tour including Metallica, Linkin Park, Mastodon, Killing Joke, The Used, Prodigy, Bullet for My Valentine, and more.[8]
On April 27, 2010 Mix Magazine published an article about the state of the art for Instant Concert recordings featuring an interview with Aderra founder Ed Donnelly.[9]
On June 27, 2010 Aderra teamed with L.A. Indie band Killola to create the first live video performance streamed to the inside of an album. Using a new technology the company dubbed "PushOvr" a live music performance was streamed to a User Interface contained on the band's latest USB album release. The event was covered in several media outlets such as Billboard.biz,[10] cNet,[11]the L.A. Times Technology Blog[12] and Pluginmusic.com.[13]
On September 14, 2010 Aderra released new music by The Cult on CD/DVD DualDisc, 12 inch vinyl, USB flash drive, FLAC download and Mp3 download.[14] The release titled "Capsule 1" is the first in a series of mixed media offerings from The Cult.
On October 26, 2010 Aderra announced the release of The Cult Capsule 2 and a new single, Embers, to debut on iTunes Nov. 1, 2010.[15]
On November 16, 2010 Aderra released a second new release from The Cult on an Enhanced CD titled "Capsule 2: New Blood, Deep Cuts" Featuring a short film Titled "Black Angel".[16]
On December 17, 2010 Aderra Inc. was included in an article written by Damian Kulash, singer of rock band OK Go, in The Wall Street Jornal. The article was an overview of Kulash's opinions about the future of the music industry.[17]
On January 31, 2011 company Founder Ed Donnelly was interviewed by MicControl about Aderra's Technologies and services.[18]
On February 24, 2011 Aderra and RTG Ventures announced a partnership to monetize digital concert videos streamed to mobile devices.[19]
The summer 2011 Edition of Berklee Today Magazine featured Company President Ed Donnelly in an article about the current state of the music industry.[20]
On January 3, 2012 Aderra announced a JV with RTG Ventures to create a mobile Fan Application.[21]
